· Brief Summary:

This article was a conducted prospective analysis of smoking and the risk of RA among 103,818 women in the Nurses’ Health Study.

The risk remained elevated in past smokers until 20 years or more after cessation.

Both increasing duration and intensity of cigarette smoking increase the risk of rheumatoid arthritis in women.

Most of the risk associated with smoking is for rheumatoid factor positive rheumatoid arthritis.

The strengths of this article is that it provides a lot of information and statistics and you can tell that someone did a lot of research and studies on this topic.

I couldn’t really find any weaknesses.
